Since 1948 our family has kicked heels, splashed puddles, stomped mud and never taken a step without recognizing just how small we are in this vast and great and beautiful drift we call home.
As a Canadian company, every boot we design must conquer the harshest elements. After all, it’s hard to feel fashionable if you can’t feel your toes. That’s why three generations of our family are still working hard to keep your family warm, dry and always in style.

Guaranteed Waterproof
For over 60 years we’ve promised you boots that can handle the great outdoors without fear. And we’re willing to back it up.
Cougar boots are guaranteed to resist leaks under normal wear for a period of six months from date of purchase. If perspiration causes dampness to get inside boots, blow-dry lining ensuring shoe/boot shaft is upright to promote air circulation. The warranty cannot be extended to laced openings or zippers or to misuse, negligence, accidents or exposure to chemicals or extreme heat. Temperature Ratings
Whether you’re puddle hopping or bracing yourself for a blizzard, there’s a Cougar boot for you.
Different styles use different levels of insulation, all of which are lab tested to determine resistance to heat loss and their ability to keep feet warm. The rating is affected by your degree of activity and the rate of blood circulation in your feet. Choose boots that fit comfortably, and remember to wear wool or wool blend socks.
Cougar & PVC
PVC is an inexpensive and widely used plastic, but it has been linked to health and environmental concerns. That’s why we are striving to eliminate the use of PVC from our collection entirely. However, we already offer many PVC-free styles that are clearly marked in-store and online.
Mens
The path leads straight ahead. Pinecones, rocks, twigs, trees and a thin layer of frost set the scene. No matter where you start, the journey soon takes over. Each step filled with expectations of the adventure to come.
Womens
There’s no beauty secret for cheeks reddened by a chill winter wind. This always-fashionable shade speaks to a full day of fun, from sledding down snow-capped hills or playfully chasing the kids across too short afternoons.
Boys
Little eyes look up in awe of an amazing world, filled with gigantic proportions. Here, snowdrifts become mountains and puddles stretch like great lakes. More than a playground, this is a training ground. Each step builds confidence to take on bigger challenges.
Girls
The world is an icy playground where little feet measure the quality of the snow. Light and innocent are the steps, worried only with the setting of the sun and the inevitable trudge home.
