What’s the best-kept secret store to shop at in your neighbourhood?
I recently found out that Hudson’s Bay is now carrying my favorite Danish brand, Ganni. They have a small section hidden behind the racks of other more popular brands. The Ganni designs combine bold prints and bright colors with flowy and feminine cuts. Every season they have a selection of comfortable t-shirts with fun slogans on them. Their designs are so joyful and unique!
What’s the most important style item to invest in?
Handbags and coats! If you choose them well, they’re items that will last you for years. You can wear a good quality handbag and coat with anything because they will elevate all your looks! They are also items that will have to resist to all kinds of weather so better have good quality ones.
What’s the biggest mistake people make when shopping for clothes?
Buying pieces just because they are cheap, not because they really want it. I’ve done this in the past and only realized that these are the clothes I usually get rid off after a few months. Now I’m trying to only buy pieces I really love and know will last me a long time. It’s also more sustainable.
Who is your current style icon?
Emily Weiss, Pernille Teisbaek, Carolina Engman and Jacey Duprie. All these women have such unique personal styles and they’re the best at mixing luxury pieces with more accessible ones. All of them support smaller designers too, which is something I’d like to do more!
Tell us something about yourself that people are usually surprised to hear.
At home, I only wear my soft dressing gown with thermal ski pants. Not the typical fashion blogger outfit…
You have a time machine. What time and place do you travel to just for the clothes?
I would have to say the 18th century in Versailles because of Marie-Antoinette. The dresses were so extravagant and I can only imagine how it felt wearing one of them. Of course, when I get there I would have to attend a ball and find prince charming!
What is the most underappreciated item in a woman’s wardrobe?
Comfortable shoes. I spend most of the summer with my feet covered in blisters but there’s nothing like a good pair of comfortable sneakers to fix that. I should remind myself of that more often!
