Skiing, snow tubing and shopping, Payton needs a winter boot that can handle it all. We find out if our winter sneakers pass the test.
What’s your earliest memory of caring about how you dressed?
Picture day, first grade. I begged my mom to let me wear my two-piece leopard and fur skirt and jacket combo. She chose her battles, obliged, and I have the pictures to prove it!
“We’ve gotten a good bit of snow here in South Carolina this month so these shoes came in at the perfect time. They keep my feet dry, warm and (most importantly) stylish.”
You have $500 to spend on your wardrobe. What do you buy?
I would buy shoes and jewelry, hands down. You can wear both of these things endlessly and they always fit… even after that extra piece of cake!
“These lil’ guys can be styled up or down so easily. They look awesome with a dressy, chunky sweater and skinny jeans or with leggings and a sweatshirt.”
What’s the most important style item to invest in?
I am all about a good pair of shoes. When you invest in a quality pair of boots or sneakers, you’ll have them for years. Some of my favorite items to-date are pieces I once splurged on, and now they’re irreplaceable parts of my everyday wardrobe.
What’s the biggest mistake people make when shopping for clothes?
When you go shopping, don’t think about what is trendy or what you saw in a magazine. Find a piece that you love and then go from there.
Be yourself, bringing a new perspective to a common look is what makes fashion so fun!
What is the most underappreciated item in a woman’s wardrobe?
I firmly believe that a classic, white, V-neck tee is severely underrated!
Throw it on with leggings and a denim jacket and sneakers. Style it up with a leather jacket, printed skirt and moto boots. Lounge around the house in tee and sweatpants. Really, the options are endless when it comes to a good basic tee.
You have a time machine. What time and place do you travel to just for the clothes?
This is a no-brainer, definitely the 50s! Think about it: leather jackets, high-waisted denim, sneakers, neck scarves, polished hair and a good cat-eye. The movie Grease is set in the 50s and I’ve always loved their costumes!
