We asked this busy mom about her sense of style, and what she looks for in clothes after having a baby.
What’s the biggest mistake people make when shopping for clothes?
1) People sacrifice comfort for style, but what they don’t realize is they can still have both.
2) Some current trends make absolutely no sense and are not meant for every body type.
It’s important to stay true to what you feel confident in, what you’re comfortable in, and making small changes here and there to keep things fresh.
“I love the durability these Bloom sneakers to handle our ever-changing seasons and the variety of style and colours to choose from.”
What was your favorite thing to wear when you were younger?
I was such a tomboy growing up and never really cared about my appearance. You would always find me wearing Modrobe pants and the same blue hoodie everyday.
What’s your earliest memory of caring about how you dressed?
It started in my mid twenties when I graduated college and had an office job. I was tired of my clothes looking tired and really wanted to dress for the job I wanted. It took A LOT of purging and learning what pieces would look good on my body type and the best places to buy them.
From then on, I really took an interest in how I dressed and kept improving as time went on.
What’s the biggest change in the way you’ve shopped for clothes?
After having a baby, I really had to put a lot of thought into new clothing purchases.
So many questions go through my mind before I buy, such as: is it easy to wash? Is it comfortable to move in? Will be it comfortable for my baby as well since I’m usually holding him?
Tell us something about yourself that people are usually surprised to hear.
I used to skateboard and had really, really, really short hair.
“These [Bloom Leather Sneakers] are the cutest white sneakers, perfect for spring!”
