We wanted to know more about our favorite Seattle resident; who is her style icon, what influences her, and what’s the biggest fashion mistake she’s ever made?
What’s your earliest memory of caring about how you dressed?
When I was very little my mom would always dress me in the cutest clothes; dresses and skirts and bows. But then in elementary and middle school your body changes so much it is hard to really know what looks good and fits.
I didn’t have great style in middle and high school, and it definitely took me a while to figure out what was flattering for my own body.
I would say when I was away from home in college and had total control of what I bought and wore was when I started to figure out what worked for me and what I liked.
“I love these casual lightweight Kensington Chelsea Boots, there is literally a color to go with everything!”
You have a time machine. What time and place do you travel to just for the clothes?
I really like the clothes from the 70s. Kind of that retro vibe with the wide leg jeans and tie dye.
What’s the biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made?
When I was in middle school I would wear a vest with nothing under it! How weird is that? Like a big North Face puff vest. I had so many colors and would just wear that with no shirt under. So bad...
If you could bring one past trend back from the dead, what would it be?
Honestly I think that any trend is in style right now! We are sort of living in a time when anything goes, and I really like that. It gives us artistic and creative freedom to wear what makes me feel the most me!
Who is your current style icon?
I love @hellofashionblog as far as daily relatable style goes. She does a great job of being creative and fun but realistic with what she wears.
Hailey Baldwin is good for edgy street style and celebrity fashion influence.
“I wore my Dallas Leather Heeled Hiker Boots every day this winter, so good for the rain and snow!!”
What’s the most important style item to invest in?
I think shoes and jeans are some of the items you will get the most use out of. When I have a good pair of jeans and shoes I know they will be comfortable and last and get good use out of them. Usually those are the same items that you end up being able to wear with anything!
