Living in beautiful Nova Scotia, these two photographers travel the world and document their lives together along with their dog Lily and Ferguson the cat.
How did you dress as a child? What was your favorite thing to wear?
Allie: I had this super ugly blue sweater with a shoe on the front, and a navy blue visor – I wore those for a solid year when I was 10 or 11, haha!
If you could bring one past trend back from the dead, what would it be?
Sam: I would say overalls, but I’m so happy that they’re making a comeback. When I was a child I had different colour denim short overalls and I loved them!
What’s the biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made?
Allie: I distinctly remember a day in high school where i wore a long sleeved white bodysuit, with a black sparkly babydoll tank top over it, with skinny jeans and flats. My best friend took one look at me and burst out laughing!
What’s your earliest memory of caring about how you dressed?
Allie: My earliest memory is a Minnie Mouse, pink and white tutu dress. I wore it for three or four years until it was ripped and torn. I still love to look back at photos of myself wearing it - it made me so happy!
Who is your current style icon?
Sam: I look to a lot of Instagram and YouTube influencers for fashion influence. I’m currently loving Aspyn Ovard and Jaci Marie’s style. Both of their styles are so flowy and they always look so adorable. I also love buying clothes that influencers recommend because they feel like trusted friends!
What’s the most important style item to invest in?
Sam: 100% jeans. I good pair of jeans can make any outfit better and boost your confidence. The downside is that it’s so hard to find good jeans. If you get a few pairs of really great fitting, high quality jeans you can wear them for so long and avoid the much dreaded jean shopping.
